Before you start

What is this portal for?

It is the University of Karachi's admissions portal. You create one account, apply to the programmes you are eligible for, pay the fee, download your admit card, see your merit result and complete your enrolment - all in one place.

One account carries every application you ever make here. When a new intake opens you sign in, pick the programme, and only fill in what is specific to it.

What do I need before I begin?

Your CNIC (or B-Form) number, an email address you can open, a mobile number you actually use, a recent front-facing photograph, and your certificates and mark sheets for every level you have completed.

Your name( As per Matriculation Certificate ), your father's name( As per Matriculation Certificate ) and your marks must be entered exactly as they appear on your certificates.

How do I know which programmes are open and when?

kindly check the schedule which is atteched in the portal.

Do I need to visit the campus to apply?

No. Registering, applying and paying are all done online. You visit the campus only where a programme requires it in person - the entry test, an interview, or the helpline counter if something needs to be sorted out face to face.

Registration and your account

How do I create an account?

Open the portal and choose Create an account. You will be asked for your name, your father's name, your email, your CNIC, an active mobile number, a photograph and a password.

After that, check your email and confirm your address. Until you do, you cannot get into the portal.

Why does it ask for my CNIC, and what if I do not have one?

Your CNIC is what identifies your account - you sign in with it, not with your email, and it is what links your forms together.

If you do not hold a CNIC yet, use your B-Form number. Enter it exactly as it is printed, including the dashes.

How careful do I need to be with my name and my father's name?

Very. Enter both exactly as they are spelled on your matric certificate, including middle names and initials.

These are printed on your admit card and carried through to your enrolment, and correcting them later is not something you can do yourself - it needs the admissions office.

What photograph should I upload?

A recent,( passport size ) clear, front-facing photograph of just you, against a plain background. This is the photograph printed on your admit card, so the invigilator at the test centre has to be able to recognise you from it.

You can replace it from your profile before you submit a form.

I never received the verification email.

Check your spam or junk folder first - it is almost always there. The portal can send it again from the verification screen.

If it still does not arrive, the address may have been mistyped when you registered. Contact the helpline with your CNIC so it can be corrected.

Can I register twice, or with a second CNIC?

No. One candidate, one account. The portal will not accept a CNIC that is already registered, and duplicate accounts are removed before the merit lists are prepared.

If you think you already have an account but cannot get into it, use Forgot password instead of registering again.

Profile and education records

Why can I not reach anything until I complete my profile?

Because everything else depends on it. Your profile and your education records are copied into each admission form when you submit it, and that copy is what the merit is calculated from.

The portal keeps you on the profile screen until the required fields are filled so that no form can be submitted against incomplete information. ( otherwise you visit the official help- line desk at silver jubilee gate.)

What education records do I need to enter?

PRE- REQUISIT EDUCATION MEANS LAST EDUCATION )One record for every level you have completed - matric, intermediate, and where they apply your graduation and masters. For each one you enter the board or university, the year, your group or discipline, and your marks.

Enter the marks exactly as they are on the mark sheet. Your percentage is worked out from them, and it is a large part of your merit.

I entered my marks wrongly. Can I fix them?

You can edit your profile and education records freely until you final-submit a form. After final submission the form holds its own copy of them, and changing your profile afterwards does not change a form you have already submitted.

If a submitted form carries wrong marks, take it to the helpline counter with your original mark sheet.

My result is not out yet. Can I still apply?

YES. WAITNIG OF RESULT OPTION ALREDY MENTION IN THE SYSTEM. YOU OPT. BUT this is your responsibility to upload your marks sheet at your portal before 3 day of annoucement the final merit list.

Choosing a programme

Why can I not see a programme I expected?

The list shows the intakes open to your education level for the current year. A programme is missing if it is not open yet, has already closed, or is meant for a different level than the one on your profile.

If you believe your education level is recorded wrongly, correct it in your profile and the list will change.

Can I apply to more than one programme?

Yes. You can apply to every intake you are eligible for, and each one is a separate form with its own fee.

The closing date has passed. Is there anything I can do?

Once a programme closes, the portal will not accept a new form for it. Closing dates are sometimes extended, and when they are, the new date is what the portal enforces and what is shown on the programme.

In specific cases the admissions office can open a closed programme for one candidate. That is arranged at the helpline counter, not online.

What is the difference between morning and evening programmes?

They are separate intakes with their own seats, their own fees and their own merit lists. Morning programmes are the regular ones; evening programmes are self-financed and run outside normal hours.

You may apply to both, but read the note on enrolment below first - being admitted to both has consequences for the fee you have already paid.

Filling and submitting the form

Do I have to fill the whole form in one sitting?

No. The form saves as you go, so you can close it and come back. A dropped connection does not cost you the work you have already done.

What you do have to finish in time is the final submission, before the programme closes.

How do the departmental preferences work?

You list the departments you want, in the order you want them, up to the limit that programme allows.

The order matters. When seats are allotted, you are considered for your first preference first; only if you do not make its cut-off are you considered for your second, and so on down your list. Put the department you most want at the top, even if you think you might not reach it.

What happens when I press final submit?

Your profile, your education records and your preferences are copied into the form, and the form is locked. From that point the choices cannot be changed, because the merit lists are generated from them.

Check everything before you submit. Up to that moment you can edit as much as you like. AFTER THE FINAL SUBMIT YOU NOT CHANGE ANY THING , YOU VISIT THE HELP- LINE OFFICIAL DESK WHICH IS LOCATED AT SILVER JUBILEE GATE.

I submitted by mistake, or I want to change my preferences.

A final-submitted form cannot be reopened from the portal. Bring your form number to the helpline counter - unlocking a form is a decision for the admissions office, and it is only possible while that programme is still open.

Where do I find my form number?

It is shown on the form itself and on every voucher, admit card and enrolment document that comes from it. Keep it - it is what the helpline, the tracker and the checking counter identify your application by.

Fees and vouchers

How do I pay the admission Form / Enrollment fee?

Generate the voucher from your form and pay it through Kuickpay - at any participating bank branch, or through your bank's app or internet banking using the Kuickpay consumer number printed on it.

Do not pay by any other route. A payment that does not go through the voucher cannot be matched to your form.

How long does it take for my payment to show?

The portal is updated from the bank, not from your receipt, so it is not instant. Allow one to two working days.

Keep the paid voucher until your form shows as paid. If it has been longer than that, take the paid voucher to the helpline counter.

Is the fee refundable if I am not admitted?

The processing fee paid with an admission form is not refundable, whatever the outcome of the merit. It pays for handling the application, not for a seat.

Enrolment fees are a separate matter and follow the university's own refund rules.

I lost my voucher before paying it.

Open the form again and print it a second time. The voucher carries the same reference every time, so reprinting it changes nothing and costs nothing.

Document checking

What is document checking?

After you submit and pay, staff check your form against your documents - your certificates, mark sheets, CNIC and photograph. Your form then moves to one of a few status: still to be checked, approved, short of documents, or cancelled any of them remarks will be mention at your form status.

You can see where yours has reached from My Forms.

My form says short of documents. What now?

Something is missing or unreadable. You are sent an SMS saying so, and an Upload Short Documents button appears on that form.

Upload what is asked for promptly. A form left short of documents past the deadline is not considered for the merit.

Why was my form cancelled?

Usually because the documents do not support what the form claims - marks that do not match the mark sheet, a certificate that cannot be verified, an ineligible qualification, or a duplicate application.

If you believe it was cancelled in error, take your originals to the helpline counter. Do not submit a second form. Main reason FOR CANCELLATION OF IS LESS THAN 45 %.

Do I have to bring my original documents anywhere?

Yes, at the points the programme's notice says so - typically at the test centre, at checking, and again at enrolment. Bring the originals and a set of photocopies; the originals are seen and returned.

Admit card and test

When can I download my admit card?

WHEN ADMIT CARD IS ISSUED TO YOU. SMS OR E-MAIL WILL BE RECIIEVED. ALSO BUTTON SHOW FOR ADMIT CARD.

What do I bring to the test?

A printed admit card, your original CNIC or B-Form, and whatever the programme's notice asks for. Nothing else.

You will not be allowed into the hall without a printed admit card - a copy on your phone is not accepted.

What is the QR code on my admit card for?

It is scanned at the gate to confirm the card is genuine and belongs to you. It is also how staff pull up your record quickly if anything needs checking on the day.

I applied to two programmes. Do I sit two tests?

Normally yes - BUT VISUAL STUDIES TEST WILL CONTUCTED SEPARATE. THOSE STUDENTS SUMBIT TEST BASED FORM AND PHARM-D , APPEAR IN ONE TEST. TEST SCORE APPLICABILE BOTH THE PROGRAMS.

Merit and admission

How is merit calculated?

It depends on the programme. Some rank candidates on academic percentage alone, some on the entry test, and some on a combination of academic marks, test and interview.

Whichever applies, every department has its own number of seats and its own minimum percentage, and candidates are placed strictly in merit order down their own preference list.

I scored higher than someone who was admitted and I was not. How?

Almost always because of preference order or eligibility, not the score. Seats are filled per department: a higher-scoring candidate who put a department fourth can miss it while a lower-scoring candidate who put it first gets in, because it filled before your fourth preference was reached.

Departments also have their own minimum percentage and faculty requirements, and reserved-seat categories are counted separately.

Where do I see my result?

On the form itself, under My Forms - your marks and, once merit lists are published, the department you have been admitted to.

The official lists and closing percentages are also published on Important Links.

What is a closing percentage?

The merit of the last candidate admitted to a department in that round. It is the practical cut-off, and it tells you how close you came.

It changes from year to year and from round to round - it is a record of what happened, not a threshold set in advance.

I was not admitted anywhere. Is that the end?

Not necessarily. Later rounds are held for the seats left by candidates who do not enrol, and separate intakes - evening, self-finance, reserved seats - run on their own schedules.

Watch Important Links for those announcements, and check the tracker before assuming nothing has changed.

Claims

What is a claim form?

It is how you formally ask the admissions office to look at your case again if you believe the merit list has treated you wrongly - a percentage recorded incorrectly, a preference not considered, or a category not applied.

When claims are open for a programme, a Claim Form button appears on the form.

When should I file a claim, and when should I not?

File one when you can point to something specific and checkable - your own record being wrong, or a rule not applied to you as written.

Do not file one simply because you were not admitted to your preferred department. Missing a cut-off is the merit working as intended, and a claim will not change it.

How long do claims take?

Claims are collected, checked against the record and answered together after the claim window closes - not one at a time. The outcome appears on your form.

File within the window. A claim after the last date cannot be accepted.

Enrolment

I have been admitted. What do I do now?

Open the form under My Forms and print the enrolment voucher, pay it by the last date, and then complete your enrolment form and choose your courses in the portal.

A seat is confirmed by enrolling, not by being admitted. Miss the last date and it goes to the next candidate.

The enrolment button is not showing.

It appears only once a department has actually been allotted to you and enrolment has been opened for that programme.

If your form shows an admitted department but no button, enrolment for that intake has not opened yet. Check Important Links for the schedule.

I was admitted to both a morning and an evening programme and have paid for the morning one. Can I enrol in the evening one?

Not from the portal. Once the morning fee is paid and approved, the portal stops you printing an evening enrolment voucher, so that one payment is not stranded against the wrong programme.

Take your original paid morning voucher to the helpline counter at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Karachi, and the evening fee formalities will be completed there.

Can I change my department or shift after being admitted?

Not in the portal. A transfer between shifts, or between departments, is a decision for the admissions office and is actioned by staff.

Bring your case to the helpline counter. Do not enrol somewhere you do not intend to study on the assumption it can be swapped later.

What is the enrolment form and course selection for?

The enrolment form is your record as an admitted student of the department. Course selection is where you pick the courses you will study for the term, from those your department offers.

Both are completed in the portal after the enrolment fee is paid.

Account problems

I forgot my password.

Choose Forgot password on the sign-in screen and enter the email address on your account. A reset link is sent to it.

If no email arrives, check your spam folder. If the address itself is wrong, VISIT the helpline OR SEND E-MAIL,can correct it once you have proved who you are.

I cannot sign in even though my password is right.

Sign in with your CNIC, not your email, and enter it exactly as you registered it, including dashes.

If you have verified your email and it still fails, the account may have been suspended. The sign-in screen says so when that is the case - contact the helpline with your CNIC.

My account says it is suspended.

Accounts are suspended by the admissions office, usually where duplicate registrations or a problem with the documents has been found.

Nothing in the portal will lift it. Contact the helpline counter with your CNIC and your documents.

I have changed my mobile number or email.

Update them in your profile. Keep the mobile number current in particular - short-of-documents notices and admission messages are sent to it by SMS, and a number you no longer use means you will not hear about a problem in time.

Can I check the status of a form without signing in?

Yes. The public tracker takes a form number and shows submission, payment, admit card and admission status. It is meant for parents and guardians, so nobody has to share a password.

Still stuck? Check Important Links for the current notices and admission schedule, or visit the helpline counter at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Karachi.
